By the end of this engagement, you will have a direct and purchased-energy emissions figure for one reporting year, calculated using published factors applicable in Japan, with the method written down so it can be reproduced — by you, or by us again next year on a consistent basis.
The problem
An emissions figure sounds simple until it needs defending. Different boundary choices produce different numbers from the same records, and a figure that cannot be compared year to year is often more confusing than no figure at all. Many companies have the underlying data but not a consistent way of turning it into something reportable.
The solution
We define the reporting boundary explicitly at the outset, gather the relevant utility and energy records, and apply published emission factors applicable in Japan. Every step of the calculation is written into a method note, so the reasoning behind the final number is visible, not hidden inside a spreadsheet.
The experience
After the boundary is agreed, we request the relevant records and carry out the calculation. Toward the end of the engagement, we walk through the result with you in a short session, explaining not just the number but where it could shift if a boundary assumption changed.
The investment
This service is priced at ¥26,500 for one reporting year and scoped for three to four weeks. Multi-year calculations can be discussed separately.
